Foundry SMS Policy

Effective Date: April 19, 2026
Last Updated: April 19, 2026

This policy describes how Foundry Connects LLC (“Foundry”) handles SMS messaging on behalf of contractors and service professionals who use the Platform to communicate with their own customers. It supplements the Foundry Privacy Policy.

1. What we send

Foundry SMS is strictly transactional and one-to-one. A contractor hired by you may send the following messages through the Foundry Platform to the phone number you provide:

  • Estimate notifications — a link to view an estimate the contractor has prepared for you.
  • Invoice notifications — a link to view or pay an invoice the contractor has issued for you.
  • One-time verification codes — a 4-digit code used to securely access an estimate or invoice.

No marketing. No promotions. No bulk sends. Every message relates to a specific job the contractor has been hired for.

2. How consent is collected

Consent is collected verbally — in person or by phone — at the time of hire. Before the contractor can enable SMS for any customer, the contractor reads the following script verbatim:

“To send you your estimate, invoice, and any document verification codes by text, I need your permission to text this phone number. We’ll only send transactional messages about your job — no marketing or promotions. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Do I have your consent to text you at [phone number]?”

After receiving affirmative verbal consent, the contractor must tick an explicit checkbox in Foundry labeled “I read this to the client and they agreed to receive SMS.” Foundry blocks all outbound SMS to any customer without an active consent record; the checkbox cannot be bypassed.

3. How consent is recorded

Each consent grant or revocation is written to an append-only audit log. Each entry captures:

  • the exact version of the script read at the time of consent;
  • the phone number consent was granted for;
  • the contractor user who collected consent;
  • the timestamp;
  • the method (verbal, SMS STOP/START reply, or admin action).

Records are retained for the life of the account plus four (4) years.

4. Confirmation message

Immediately after a customer grants consent, Foundry sends a confirmation SMS:

“Foundry: You’re set up to receive estimates and invoices from [Business Name] at this number. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply.”

5. Frequency and rates

Message frequency varies based on the activity on your job, your estimate, and your invoice. Message and data rates may apply. Carrier participation may vary, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. How to opt out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to any message you receive. Opt-outs are processed automatically by our SMS carrier and enforced by Foundry: after a STOP reply, the contractor cannot re-enable SMS to your number from the Foundry application — you must opt back in yourself by replying START, YES, or UNSTOP.

To request help, reply HELP to any message, contact your contractor directly, or email support@foundryconnects.com.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent records with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with service providers (such as our SMS delivery provider) strictly to facilitate the transactional messages described above.
